Fred’s Furniture Relocating to Liberty Center I in Erie, Pa.

Local Retailer Inks 6,700 SF Lease at Levin-Managed Center

ERIE, Pa., April 7, 2016 – Locally based furniture operator Fred’s Furniture has leased 6,720 square feet at Liberty Center I in Erie, becoming the latest retailer to join the tenant lineup. The announcement was made by North Plainfield, N.J.-based Levin Management, exclusive leasing and managing agent for the 227,000-square-foot shopping center.

Levin Leasing Representative Jordan Korris negotiated the lease. Susan Dey of Marsha Marsh Real Estate Services represented the tenant.

“Fred’s Furniture was displaced earlier this year when a fire damaged its store, and since that time has been operating from a temporary office while searching for a new location,” Korris said. “This long-standing retailer is ingrained in the local community, and we are pleased to have been able to provide them with new space at Liberty Center I. Fred’s Furniture is well known within this marketplace and has a loyal clientele. We are confident the store’s presence will complement the already strong tenant mix in place at Liberty Center I.”

Fred's Furniture for more than 45 years has sold furniture for kitchens, bedrooms and living rooms from name-brand manufacturers such as Catnapper, Jackson, Lang, Vaughan-Bassett, Serta Upholstery, Coaster, Carolina, Bernards, Klaussner, Simmons Upholstery and many others. The store also carries a wide selection of mattresses.

Situated near I-90 at the intersection of West 38th and Liberty streets, just off of Peach Street, Liberty Center I is located in the residential heart of Erie. The center serves a growing population of more than 160,000 people within a five-mile radius. Anchored by supermarket chain Tops Friendly Markets and Peebles department store, Liberty Center I’s lineup of national and regional tenants includes Harbor Freight Tools, Dollar Tree, Rent-A-Center, Payless ShoeSource, H&R Block, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit (coming soon) and GNC, among others.

Several prime retail spaces currently are available at Liberty Center I, ranging from 2,800 square feet to up to 14,000 square feet. A 5,500-square-foot end cap with pylon signage on Peach Street also is available.
