Levin Management Announces Popeyes Lease in Woodbridge, N.J.

Quick-Service Chicken Concept Adds New Dining Option at St. Georges Crossing

WOODBRIDGE, N.J., July 21, 2020 – Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is joining the tenant roster at St. Georges Crossing in Woodbridge, adding another dining option to this Middlesex County shopping destination. Levin Management Corporation (LMC) serves as exclusive leasing and managing agent for the 343,000-square-foot, grocery-anchored property, which is located at the intersection of heavily traveled Route 1 & 9 and Route 35.

LMC Leasing Representative E.J. Moawad spearheaded the 2,500-square-foot, long-term transaction; Shane Wierks of Jeffery Realty represented the tenant.

“This well-established Popeyes franchisee was drawn to the local market’s proven history of successful quick-service and fast-casual restaurants,” Moawad said. “St. Georges Crossing, with its prime location, exposure and excellent demographics, is a terrific fit within this context. Popeyes’ menu has wide appeal, and we are excited to expand the property’s dining options with the addition of this nationally recognized chain.”

Founded in 1972, Popeyes enjoys a culinary heritage built upon the Cajun and creole flavor profiles that are unmistakably Louisiana. The chain’s unique New Orleans-style menu features spicy chicken, chicken tenders, fried shrimp, and other regional items. This unique and flavorful food has allowed Popeyes to become one of the world’s largest chicken quick service restaurants, with more than 2,700 locations in the U.S. and around the world.

Popeyes will share a newly redeveloped, free-standing former restaurant building with a Xfinity Retail Store, which Comcast opened at St. Georges Crossing last year. Anchored by a high-volume ShopRite, St. Georges Crossing’s strong mix of retail, restaurant and service tenants also includes P.C. Richard & Son, T.J.Maxx, West Marine, Blu alehouse, PetSmart, AutoZone, Verizon Wireless, House of Wine & Liquor, European Wax Center, Visionworks, Taco Bell and GameStop, among others. The center serves a residential population of nearly 135,000 people within a three-mile radius and a daytime population of about 65,000 people within those same three miles. More than 81,500 vehicles per day pass St. Georges Crossing along Route 1.

LMC is marketing two remaining space availabilities (10,300 SF and 1,200 SF) at St. Georges Crossing.

For nearly seven decades, North Plainfield, N.J.-based LMC has served as a trusted single-source commercial real estate services provider for institutional and private owners. The firm today maintains a diversified, retail-focused portfolio of nearly 110 properties totaling almost 15.5 million square feet in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states, offering leasing, property management, financial management and reporting, construction management and development, lease administration, marketing services, and acquisition and disposition consulting services. LMC’s capabilities continue to evolve with new technologies, efficiencies and sustainability-focused initiatives to serve a new generation of properties, investors and tenants.
